Leptonic new force and cosmic-ray boosted dark matter for the XENON1T excess

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2020
The recently reported excess in XENON1T is explained by new leptonic forces, which are free from gauge anomalies. We focus on two scenarios with and without dark matter. In Scenario #1, the gauge boson of gauged lepton number U(1)Le−Lj, j=μ or τ provides

Dynamical Models of Spherical Galaxies with Massive Halo [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2003
Using the Schwarzschild's linear programming technique, we obtained the general solutions of the collisionless Bolzmann equation describing the spherical galaxy in dynamical equilibrium.

Splashback Radius in a Spherical Collapse Model

open access: yesUniverse, 2022
It was shown several years ago that dark matter halo outskirts are characterized by very steep density profiles in a very small radial range. This feature has been interpreted as a pile-up of different particle orbits at a similar location, namely ...

The substructure hierarchy in dark matter haloes [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2010
We present a new algorithm for identifying the substructure within simulated dark matter haloes. The method is an extension of that proposed by Tormen et al. (2004) and Giocoli et al. (2008a), which identifies a subhalo as a group of self-bound particles that prior to being accreted by the main progenitor of the host halo belonged to one and the same ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

How Do the Velocity Anisotropies of Halo Stars, Dark Matter, and Satellite Galaxies Depend on Host Halo Properties?

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We investigate the mass ( M _200 ) and concentration ( c _200 ) dependencies of the velocity anisotropy ( β ) profiles for different components in the dark matter halo—including halo stars, dark matter, and subhalos—using systems from the IllustrisTNG ...

Dark Matter Annihilations in the Large Magellanic Cloud

open access: yes, 1993
The flat rotation curve obtained for the outer star clusters of the Large Magellanic Cloud is suggestive of an LMC dark matter halo. From the composite HI and star cluster rotation curve, I estimate the parameters of an isothermal dark matter halo added ...

Dark matter annihilation at the galactic center [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
If cold dark matter is present at the galactic center, as in current models of the dark halo, it is accreted by the central black hole into a dense spike.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The DREAMS Project: Disentangling the Impact of Halo-to-Halo Variance and Baryonic Feedback on Milky Way Dark Matter Speed Distributions

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Dark matter direct detection experiments require information about the local dark matter speed distribution to produce constraints on dark matter candidates, or infer their properties in the event of a discovery.
