The Diversity Of Darkling Beetles (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) In Qatar Is Understimated
Qatar Foundation Annual Research Forum Volume 2013 Issue 1, 2013As part of the biodiversity surveys conducted recently in Qatar, we studied the darkling beetles of the family Tenebrionidae (Coleoptera). We have started the analyses of the geographic distribution of the species, followed by studies on systematics, genetics, and evolution of the most diversified group of Coleoptera in desert environments.

Defensive displays and chemical secretions of darkling beetles in the Mojave Desert
2017Many organisms often rely on chemical defenses to deter predators. However, the way in which invertebrates utilize chemical defenses has been relatively understudied. Darkling beetle species of the Eleodes and Coelocnemis genera exhibit defensive posturing followed by malodorous chemical secretions to signal their unpalatability towards potential ...

[Antioxidant system in the darkling beetle (Tenebrio molitor) in ontogenesis].
Ukrains'kyi biokhimichnyi zhurnal (1999 ), 2006The level of antioxidant protection and lipid peroxidation (LP) intensity in the darkling beetle Tenebrio molitor on different developmental stages were assessed. Each stage was shown to be characterized by its own peculiarities of prooxidant-antioxidant balance. Thus, maximal intensity of oxidative processes estimated by LP intermediate product (diene

Descriptions of Pupae of the Darkling Beetle Subfamily Phrenapatinae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae)
Annales Zoologici, 2019Relationships of darkling beetles in the subfamily Phrenapatinae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) are poorly known. Meaningful comparative studies are hampered by the fact that morphological structures of adults typically used for assessing relationships within Tenebrionidae cannot be used successfully in this group because they are either absent or ...
