ACCESSING AND PROCESSING BRAZILIAN EARTH OBSERVATION DATA CUBES WITH THE OPEN DATA CUBE PLATFORM [PDF]
Abstract. Recently, several technologies have emerged to address the need to process and analyze large volumes of Earth Observations (EO) data. The concept of Earth Observations Data Cubes (EODC) appears, in this context, as the paradigm of technologies that aim to structure and facilitate the way users handle this type of data.

This paper introduces an approach to supporting high-dimensional data cubes at interactive query speeds and moderate storage cost. The approach is based on binary(-domain) data cubes that are judiciously partially materialized; the missing information can be quickly reconstructed using statistical or linear programming techniques.

Earth Observation Data Cubes [PDF]
Satellite Earth observation (EO) data have already exceeded the petabyte scale and are increasingly freely and openly available from different data providers.

Specifying OLAP cubes on XML data [PDF]
On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) enables analysts to gain insight into data through fast and interactive access to a variety of possible views on information, organized in a dimensional model. The demand for data integration is rapidly becoming larger as more and more information sources appear in modern enterprises.

Cross Table Cubing: Mining Iceberg Cubes from Data Warehouses [PDF]
All of the existing (iceberg) cube computation algorithms assume that the data is stored in a single base table, however, in practice, a data warehouse is often organized in a schema of multiple tables, such as star schema and snowflake schema. In terms of both computation time and space, materializing a universal base table by joining multiple tables ...

Parallelizing the Data Cube [PDF]
This paper presents a general methodology for the efficient parallelization of existing data cube construction algorithms. We describe two different partitioning strategies, one for top-down and one for bottom-up cube algorithms. Both partitioning strategies assign subcubes to individual processors in such a way that the loads assigned to the ...

Data Cube on Demand (DCoD): Generating an earth observation Data Cube anywhere in the world
To tackle Big Data challenges such as Volume, Variety, and Velocity, the Earth Observations Data Cube (EODC) concept has emerged as a solution for lowering barriers and offering new possibilities to harness the information power of satellite EO data. However, installing, configuring, and managing an EODC instance is still difficult requiring specific ...

Semantic Earth Observation Data Cubes [PDF]
There is an increasing amount of free and open Earth observation (EO) data, yet more information is not necessarily being generated from them at the same rate despite high information potential. The main challenge in the big EO analysis domain is producing information from EO data, because numerical, sensory data have no semantic meaning; they lack ...

Summarizing Data Cubes Using Blocks [PDF]
In the context of multidimensional data, OLAP tools are appropriate for the navigation in the data, aiming at discovering pertinent and abstract knowledge. However, due to the size of the data set, a systematic and exhaustive exploration is not feasible.
