Clustering geo-data cubes

open access: yes, 2020
Earth observation sensors deliver ever-expanding collections of geospatial data at multiple resolutions (spatial, temporal and thematic or spectral). Efficient tools to extract knowledge from these collections are currently missing. Here we present the first release of Clustering geo-Data Cubes (CDC), a Python package to cluster geospatial data cubes ...

Dual‐Phased Molybdenum Carbides Confined in MOF‐Derived Carbon Nanoframes Enhance Capacitive Desalination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dual‐phase MoC/Mo2C/CoNC nanoframes are synthesized via a MOF‐on‐MOF strategy, demonstrating a large salt adsorption capacity, a low energy consumption, and an excellent cycling stability. In situ/ex situ characterizations and DFT calculations reveal that the MoC/Mo2C dual phase transition facilitates Na+ adsorption/desorption, while interface‐induced ...

Adaptive Transmission based Geographic and Opportunistic Routing in UWSNs

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web, 2018
UWSNs are frequency selective and energy-hungry due to the underwater acoustic communication links. We propose adaptive transmission based geographic and opportunistic routing (ATGOR) for efficient and reliable communication.

High‐Entropy Perovskite Nanofibers for Bifunctional Air Electrodes in Reversible Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy perovskite nanofibers serve as robust and active bifunctional air electrodes in reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells. Their compositional complexity stabilizes the lattice, enriches oxygen vacancies, and accelerates surface exchange.

Interactive Earth system data cube visualization in Jupyter notebooks

open access: yesBig Earth Data
Visualization is key for interpreting the rapid growth of gridded, spatio-temporal data sets in Earth system sciences. However, today’s tools are often designed as standalone applications, insufficiently integrated into scientific workflows, and ...

3D Digital Light Processing of Redox‐Active Polymers for Electrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
3D printing of electrochemically switchable conducting polymers is achieved by Digital Light Processing of redox‐active carbazole‐based polymer materials. Complex 2D and 3D architectures including dot arrays and pyramids clearly show the potential for novel 3D switchable electrochemical devices for sensors, electrochromic displays as well as 3D printed

Laser‐Based Sculpturing of Embedded Ultrathin Metal‐Oxide Nanopores for Enhanced Biomolecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐drilling of embedded HfO2 membranes creates three layer nanopores with Gaussian‐shaped cavities sculptured in the supporting layers. These embedded solid‐state nanopores slow DNA translocation by 12‐fold compared to SiNx pores, enabling high‐resolution, label‐free detection of short DNAs, RNAs, and proteins.
