Automatically Defining Protein Words for Diverse Functional Predictions Based on Attention Analysis of a Protein Language Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Understanding protein sequence–function relationships remains challenging due to poorly defined motifs and limited residue‐level annotations. An annotation‐agnostic framework is introduced that segments protein sequences into “protein words” using attention patterns from protein language models.

Large Language Model in Materials Science: Roles, Challenges, and Strategic Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Large language models (LLMs) are reshaping materials science. Acting as Oracle, Surrogate, Quant, and Arbiter, they now extract knowledge, predict properties, gauge risk, and steer decisions within a traceable loop. Overcoming data heterogeneity, hallucinations, and poor interpretability demands domain‐adapted models, cross‐modal data standards, and ...

A Generalizable Transformer Framework for Gene Regulatory Network Inference from Single‐Cell Transcriptomes

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
FTGRN introduces an LLM‐enhanced framework for gene regulatory network inference through a two‐stage workflow. It combines a Transformer‐based model, pretrained on GPT‐4 derived gene embeddings and regulatory knowledge, with a fine‐tuning stage utilizing single‐cell RNA‐seq data.

Implementation of Deduplication on Encrypted Big-data using Signcryption for cloud storage applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
As Big Data Cloud storage servers are getting widespread the shortage of disc space within the cloud becomes a major concern. The elimination of duplicate or redundant data, particularly in computer data is named deduplication.

Single Cell RNA Transcriptomics of Mantle Cell Lymphoma Reveals the Presence of Treatment‐Resistant Subclones at the Time of Diagnosis

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a B‐cell malignancy with a chronically relapsing clinical course and pronounced genetic heterogeneity. To investigate the clonal dynamics underlying early disease relapse, we performed single‐cell RNA sequencing of paired tumor samples collected at diagnosis and at first relapse. Inference of copy number variants (

Indeterministic Handling of Uncertain Decisions in Duplicate Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In current research, duplicate detection is usually considered as a deterministic approach in which tuples are either declared as duplicates or not. However, most often it is not completely clear whether two tuples represent the same real-world entity or
