Control flow and data structure documentation

Communications of the ACM, 1982
Two experiments were carried out to assess the utility of external documentation aids such as macro flowcharts, pseudocode, data structure diagrams, and data structure descriptions. A 223 line Pascal program which manipulates four arrays was used. The program interactively handles commands that allow the user to manage five lists of items.

Half-dynamic scheduling with data-flow control

1988
The main problem of parallel processing concerns how to utilize the multiple processors. Much effort has been put into increasing the utilization of the processors. This paper proposes scheduling algorithms for multiple processors combining static scheduling and dynamic scheduling with data-flow control.

A Load Control Mechanism for Data‐Flow Machines

Systems and Computers in Japan, 1988
AbstractThe data‐flow computer is based essentially on parallel computation. Consequently, it is essential in the realization of such high‐level management and control functions as resource management to control the parallelism and parallel expansion.

Selectivity of data-flow and control-flow path criteria

[1988] Proceedings. Second Workshop on Software Testing, Verification, and Analysis, 2003
A given path-selection criterion is more selective than another such criterion with respect to some testing goal if it never requires more, and sometimes requires fewer, test paths to achieve that goal. The author presents canonical forms of control-flow and data-flow path selection criteria and demonstrates that, for some simple testing goals, the ...
