A Provenance Tracking Model for Data Updates [PDF]
For data-centric systems, provenance tracking is particularly important when the system is open and decentralised, such as the Web of Linked Data. In this paper, a concise but expressive calculus which models data updates is presented.

Modeling and Querying Multi-dimensional Moving Objects
Motivated by the problem that the existing spatio-temporal data models do not fully represent moving objects, we design a multi-dimensional data model supporting multiple attributes, static and dynamic attributes.

Data‐adaptive additive modeling
In this paper, we consider fitting a flexible and interpretable additive regression model in a data‐rich setting. We wish to avoid pre‐specifying the functional form of the conditional association between each covariate and the response, while still retaining interpretability of the fitted functions.

Comparative model accuracy of a data-fitted generalized Aw-Rascle-Zhang model [PDF]
The Aw-Rascle-Zhang (ARZ) model can be interpreted as a generalization of the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (LWR) model, possessing a family of fundamental diagram curves, each of which represents a class of drivers with a different empty road velocity.

Impact of increased anthropogenic Amazon wildfires on Antarctic Sea ice melt via albedo reduction
This study shows the impact of black carbon (BC) aerosol atmospheric rivers (AAR) on the Antarctic Sea ice retreat. We detect that a higher number of BC AARs arrived in the Antarctic region due to increased anthropogenic wildfire activities in 2019 in ...

Data model for the cartographic representation of toponyms on topographic maps published by the MGI [PDF]
An essential aspect of creating topographic maps involves standardization and data modelling for properly visualised toponyms. The significance of this aspect arises from the fact that maps, aside from representing a graphical depiction of ...

Model-Free Data-Driven Methods in Mechanics: Material Data Identification and Solvers [PDF]
This paper presents an integrated model-free data-driven approach to solid mechanics, allowing to perform numerical simulations on structures on the basis of measures of displacement fields on representative samples, without postulating a specific ...

To the end of the line – including intermediaries and end customers in the business model CANVAS
The Business Model CANVAS is a widely adopted business model creation, visualization, and analysis framework. The CANVAS focuses on target customers but fails to consider the intermediaries situated between these target customers and end customers ...
