Robust best-fit planes from geospatial data [PDF]
Total least squares regression is a reliable and efficient way to analyze the geometry of a best-fit plane through georeferenced data points. The suitability of the input data, and the goodness of fit of the data points to the best-fit plane are considered in terms of their dimensionality, and they are quantified using two parameters involving the ...

Stochastic Cutting Planes for Data-Driven Optimization
We introduce a stochastic version of the cutting plane method for a large class of data-driven mixed-integer nonlinear optimization (MINLO) problems. We show that under very weak assumptions, the stochastic algorithm can converge to an ϵ-optimal solution with high probability.

Securing the SDN Data Plane in Emerging Technology Domains: A Review
Over the last decade, Software-Defined Networking (SDN) has garnered increasing research interest for networking and security. This interest stems from the programmability and dynamicity offered by SDN, as well as the growing importance of SDN as a ...

Consistent SDNs through Network State Fuzzing
The conventional wisdom is that a software-defined network (SDN) operates under the premise that the logically centralized control plane has an accurate representation of the actual data plane state.

Geodesic Completeness for Sobolev Metrics on the Space of Immersed Plane Curves [PDF]
We study properties of Sobolev-type metrics on the space of immersed plane curves. We show that the geodesic equation for Sobolev-type metrics with constant coefficients of order 2 and higher is globally well-posed for smooth initial data as well as ...

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.

Initial Conditions and the Structure of the Singularity in Pre-Big-Bang Cosmology [PDF]
We propose a picture, within the pre-big-bang approach, in which the universe emerges from a bath of plane gravitational and dilatonic waves. The waves interact gravitationally breaking the exact plane symmetry and lead generically to gravitational ...

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.
