The digital nature of the acquired data is discussed and quadrature detection explained from the point of view of two detectors out of phase with each other by 90°. The 2D transform is discussed using the T1 inversion recovery experiment as an aid to visualising how it works. Window functions are explored and their effects on the spectrum are examined.
