Statistical data reduction for streaming data [PDF]

open access: yes2017 New York Scientific Data Summit (NYSDS), 2017
Bulk of the streaming data from scientific simulations and experiments consists of numerical values, and these values often change in unpredictable ways over a short time horizon. Such data values are known to be hard to compress, however, much of the random fluctuation is not essential to the scientific application and could therefore be removed ...

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

New algorithm for biological objects' shape evaluation and data reduction

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2010
The paper presents the software procedure (using MAPLE 11) intended for considerable reduction of digital image data set to more easily treatable extent. The example with image of peach stone is presented. Peach stone, displayed on the digital photo, was

Personalizing the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship: Adapting Training for the Next Generation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The pediatric hematology‐oncology fellowship training curriculum has not substantially changed since its inception. The first year of training is clinically focused, and the second and third years are devoted to scholarship. However, this current structure leaves many fellows less competitive in the current job market, resulting in ...
