The proliferation of a new breed of data management applications that store and process data at remote locations has led to the emergence of search over encrypted data as an important research problem. In a typical setting of the problem, data is stored at the remote location in an encrypted form. A query generated at the clientside is transformed into

Searching rigid data structures
1995We study the exact complexity of searching for a given element in a rigid data structure (i.e., an implicit data structure consistent with a fixed family of partial orders). In particular, we show how the ordering information available in the structure facilitates the search operation.
