Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Modeling Data Sovereignty in Public Cloud—A Comparison of Existing Solutions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Data sovereignty has emerged as a critical concern for enterprises, cloud service providers (hyperscalers), end-users, and policymakers at both national and international levels. In response, cloud-based distributed computing models have been proposed as

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Automatic Generation of NGSI-LD Data Models from RDF Ontologies: Developmental Studies of Children and Adolescents Use Case

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In the era of ever-greater data production and collection, public health research is often limited by the scarcity of data. To improve this, we propose data sharing in the form of Data Spaces, which provide technical, business, and legal conditions for ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Industrial data ecosystems and data spaces

open access: yesElectronic Markets
AbstractIndustrial data ecosystems are inter-organizational forms of cooperation emerging around sharing data. They arise from a digital infrastructure, giving data providers and data users a platform to share and (re-)use data. Data spaces are among the digital infrastructures frequently associated with data ecosystems, as they supply a shared digital

Digital Twins for Research and Innovation in Support of the European Green Deal Data Space: A Systematic Review

open access: yesRemote Sensing
According to the European Data Strategy established in 2020, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is described as “the basis for a science, research and innovation data space… and will be connected and articulated with the sectoral data spaces”, being ...
