Database security issues in rough relational databases
2010 42nd Southeastern Symposium on System Theory (SSST 2010), 2010In this paper we consider security issues that arise in imprecise databases based on rough set theory. The aspect of security considered is similar to that in statistical databases for which a combination of queries cannot reveal exact values of attributes. Information theory measures are used to characterize security for imprecise databases.

2009 Second International Conference on Future Information Technology and Management Engineering, 2009
Security models, developed for databases, differ in many aspects because they focus on different features of the database security problem or because they make different assumptions about what constitutes a secure database. This leads to disjointed and incomplete understanding of the organizational security strategy.

Issues in searching molecular sequence databases
Nature Genetics, 1994Sequence similarity search programs are versatile tools for the molecular biologist, frequently able to identify possible DNA coding regions and to provide clues to gene and protein structure and function. While much attention had been paid to the precise algorithms these programs employ and to their relative speeds, there is a constellation of ...

Blockchain-based Database to Ensure Data Integrity in Cloud Computing Environments
2020 International Conference on Mainstreaming Block Chain Implementation (ICOMBI), 2020Data is nowadays an invaluable resource; indeed, it guides all business decisions in most of the computer-aided human activities. Threats to data integrity are thus of paramount relevance, as tampering with data may maliciously affect crucial business ...

Issues in designing astudent database
Nurse Education Today, 1996Many larger colleges of nursing have centralized student databases in which all elements of students' records are collated. The smaller department or college may leave the design of such databases to course leaders. This paper highlights stages and considerations in the development of student databases. It offers definitions of flat-file and relational

Issues in distributed database security
[1989 Proceedings] Fifth Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, 2003The requirements for multilevel security have been shown to conflict with some database integrity and consistency properties. The authors examine the data consistency requirements for a distributed database system, consider the effects of multilevel security on meeting those requirements, and consider architecture for achieving them.

Issues in multimedia databases
ACM SIGMOD Record, 1993Multimedia is a popular term these days, and the database community, naturally, is talking about multimedia databases. The reason multimedia is getting so much attention is clear: technology trends are now beginning to make it possible to store and display, at a reasonable price, audio and still images through a computer.
