Authorizations in relational database management systems

Proceedings of the 1st ACM conference on Computer and communications security - CCS '93, 1993
This paper proposes two major extensions to the authorization model for System R relational database management system. The first extension concerns the revoke operation. The revised model provides for a new type of revoke operation, called noncascading revoke, in addition to the System R cascading revoke operation.

Database management systems

1991
Databases have developed as organisations have attempted to make fuller use of the information held on their computers. Technological advances have resulted in development staff salaries becoming a major part of software development budgets. A properly designed database management system can dramatically improve development staff productivity.

Numerical database management system

Proceedings of the 1982 ACM SIGMOD international conference on Management of data - SIGMOD '82, 1982
Numerical databases arise in many scientific applications to keep track of large sparse and dense matrices. Unlike the many matrix data storage techniques available for incore manipulation, very large matrices are currently limited to a few compact storage schemes on secondary devices, due to the complex underlying data management facilities.
