Databases internationalization model
2017 12th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI), 2017In this paper we propose a new internationalization model for databases. This model is intended to enable the internationalization (i18n) in a database, thus facilitating the work of both the database developer as well as the translator which performs its localization (l10n).

Relational Database Modeling and Database Design
2003A good database is the bedrock on which you can create a good application. To create a sound database, you need to learn conceptual modeling skills. Database modeling and design are areas in which not all database administrators (DBAs) are uniformly proficient.

A major influence on database logical design during the 1970s was the CODASYL group, who are responsible for the definition of the COBOL programming language. During the late 1960s, CODASYL extended its area of interest to include all areas where COBOL might be used.

Abstract In this paper our aim is to highlight some of the key landmarks on the map which documents the terrain of database design. Our purpose is to use this as a means of indicating the benefits of using the database approach in the computer based modelling process.

The transaction concept provides a central paradigm for correctly synchronizing concurrent activities and for achieving reliability in database systems. In transaction modeling and processing, theory and practice influence each other a lot, and over the years the transaction concept has undergone a considerable evolution from a pure implementation ...

We present a unified view to models for text databases, proving new relations between empirical and theoretical models. A particular case that we cover is the Web. We also introduce a simple model for random queries and the size of their answers, giving experimental results that support them. As an example of the importance of text modeling, we analyze
