Transaction optimization in rule databases

Proceedings of IEEE International Workshop on Research Issues in Data Engineering: Active Databases Systems, 2002
The authors propose an approach to transection optimization in rule databases. It is based on a new technique to express updates in rule languages based on a non-immediate update execution. This technique is used to statically characterize some properties of the rules and transactions.

Transaction management in design databases

Journal of Systems and Software, 1993
Abstract Conventional data base systems are not suitable for handling advanced applications encountered in engineering, such as CAD/CAM, CASE, CAE, and VLSI design. The data bases in such environments, also called design data bases, are characterized by the presence of many complex data objects denoted by a large number of small tables, as opposed to

Evaluating Distributed Transactional Database System

Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Computer Modeling and Simulation, 2019
With the rapid development of mobile Internet and electronic commerce, massive transactional operations under new data modules becomes the dominated workload of the database systems. In order to meet the functional and performance requirements of this kind of business, new distributed transactional databases system evolve fast.

Database transaction models

1995
The transaction concept provides a central paradigm for correctly synchronizing concurrent activities and for achieving reliability in database systems. In transaction modeling and processing, theory and practice influence each other a lot, and over the years the transaction concept has undergone a considerable evolution from a pure implementation ...

Translating object-oriented database transactions into relational transactions

Information and Software Technology, 2002
Abstract In this paper, we present methods of translating transactions from object-oriented database (OODB) to relational database (RDB). The process involves schema mapping in data definition language and transaction translation in data manipulation language. They include scheme definition, data query and transaction operation of insert, update, and

Flash-aware Database Transactions

2014
Over the past 40 years, hard disks, the traditional building block of storage systems, have become increasingly slower when compared to the other system components such as the main memory and the CPU. Hard disks face mechanical constraints that cause their I/O bandwidth to lag behind capacity growth, while the access latency has remained virtually ...

Succinct summarization of transactional databases

Proceedings of the 14th ACM SIGKDD international conference on Knowledge discovery and data mining, 2008
Transactional data are ubiquitous. Several methods, including frequent itemsets mining and co-clustering, have been proposed to analyze transactional databases. In this work, we propose a new research problem to succinctly summarize transactional databases.

Performance Enhancements for Database Transactions

International Journal of Information Security and Cybercrime, 2022
Today’s evolution of the software development imposing demands and the ever-increasing competitivity between applications, considering not only their aesthetical appearance or ease of use, but also through continuously boosting their performance and suppressing their operation latency.

Transaction Management in Mobile Databases

2007
Recent advances in wireless communications and computer technology have provided users the opportunity to access information and services regardless of their physical location or movement behavior. In the context of database applications, these mobile users should have the ability to both query and update public, private, and corporate databases.

Research based on database transactions

2011 IEEE 3rd International Conference on Communication Software and Networks, 2011
The process of using the database in order to ensure the correctness of data manipulation, we realized affairs. Transaction is a set of logical operation unit, the data transformation from one state to another state, to ensure consistency of data in the database, data manipulation should be discrete groups of logic cells, and when it all finished, Data
