Integrating Transaction Services into Web-based Software Development Environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Software Development Environments (SDE) require sophisticated database transaction models due to the long-duration,interactive, and cooperative nature of the software engineering activities.

Mining Top-k Sequential Patterns in Database Graphs:A New Challenging Problem and a Sampling-based Approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In many real world networks, a vertex is usually associated with a transaction database that comprehensively describes the behaviour of the vertex. A typical example is the social network, where the behaviour of every user is depicted by a transaction database that stores his daily posted contents. A transaction database is a set of transactions, where

Chiller: Contention-centric Transaction Execution and Data Partitioning for Modern Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Distributed transactions on high-overhead TCP/IP-based networks were conventionally considered to be prohibitively expensive and thus were avoided at all costs. To that end, the primary goal of almost any existing partitioning scheme is to minimize the number of cross-partition transactions.

The subcellular distribution of phosphorylated Y‐box‐binding protein‐1 at S102 in colorectal cancer patients, stratified by KRAS mutational status and clinicopathological features

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies nuclear YB‐1 S102 phosphorylation as a marker associated with KRAS and FBXW7 mutations in colorectal cancer. Mutated KRAS correlates specifically with nuclear, not cytoplasmic, S102 YB‐1. These findings provide the first ex vivo evidence of this link in CRC and suggest future studies should assess the prognostic and therapeutic ...

A Data Cleansing Method for Clustering Large-scale Transaction Databases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we emphasize the need for data cleansing when clustering large-scale transaction databases and propose a new data cleansing method that improves clustering quality and performance. We evaluate our data cleansing method through a series of experiments.

Enhanced discovery of bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase through computer simulation and metagenomic analysis of industrial wastewater

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

Enabling High-Performance and Energy-Efficient Hybrid Transactional/Analytical Databases with Hardware/Software Cooperation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
A growth in data volume, combined with increasing demand for real-time analysis (using the most recent data), has resulted in the emergence of database systems that concurrently support transactions and data analytics. These hybrid transactional and analytical processing (HTAP) database systems can support real-time data analysis without the high costs

Turnover, account value and diversification of real traders: evidence of collective portfolio optimizing behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Despite the availability of very detailed data on financial market, agent-based modeling is hindered by the lack of information about real trader behavior.

Highly Available Queue-oriented Speculative Transaction Processing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Deterministic database systems have received increasing attention from the database research community in recent years. Despite their current limitations, recent proposals of distributed deterministic transaction processing systems demonstrated significant improvements over systems using traditional transaction processing techniques (e.g., two-phase ...
