Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1988 JICSTファクトデータベースシステムの一部としてオンラインサービスが開始されたJICST熱物性データベースの概要, 特徴, 使用法について述べた。本システムでは，60種以上の熱物理学・熱化学的性質に関するデータを蓄積することができる。データ収集対象は, 元素, 無機および低分子有機化合物の純物質系, これらの物質からなる2, 3成分系である。システムの機能としては, 有効数字を意識した浮動小数点データの取り扱い, 多面的・多様な検索のサポート, 他データベースとの渡り検索等に工夫をこらしている。このシステムの実際の使用例, 使用上の注意点についても記述した。

Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1986 ファクトデータベースにおいては, 文献データベースと異なり数値データを扱うことが多く, しかもデータ項目が多種多様であるため, 標準化を図ることが極めて困難となっている。そこで本論文では, 主として数値データを中心とした科学技術系のファクトデータベースの標準化を進める際の問題点を, データの内容表現, データ入力, データ交換およびデータベース利用という四つの観点からまとめた。合わせて, ファクトデータベースの標準化をめぐる最近の動向について紹介した。
