科学技術振興事業団は,平成9年8月よりファクトデータベースシステム“ChemSource”のインターネット提供を開始した。このシステムは“JOIS-F”システムより継承した「熱物性データベース」,「結晶構造データベース」,「質量スペクトルデータベース」を搭載しており,インターネットならではのGUI検索や,Javaによる高度なグラフィック表示を実現しているが,現在無料での提供が行われており,特別な登録手続き無しに利用できる。本稿はとくにその利用法を中心に,システムを紹介するものである。
