Genetic mapping and comparative analysis of heading date in hexaploid oat
Abstract Heading date is a critical stage in the growth and development of oats. The objectives of this study were to identify DNA markers associated with quantitative trait loci (QTL) affecting heading date in hexaploid oat, and to locate and characterize heading date QTL by comparative analysis using an oat reference genome.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

A (Somewhat Dated) Comparative Study of Betweenness Centrality Algorithms on GPU
The problem of computing the Betweenness Centrality (BC) is important in analyzing graphs in many practical applications like social networks, biological networks, transportation networks, electrical circuits, etc. Since this problem is computation intensive, researchers have been developing algorithms using high performance computing resources like ...

This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.

Alkane biosynthesis gene expression and its increased production in recombinant cyanobacteria
The transcription and mRNA structures of the alkane biosynthesis genes ado/aar were analysed in the representative cyanobacteria PCC 6803 and SK1‐2‐1, which produce C17H36 and C15H32, respectively. PCC 6803 transconjugants carrying these genes showed a 1.8‐ to 2.3‐fold increase in C17H36 production.

The A3 adenosine receptors (A3ARs) are overexpressed in prostate cancer. AR 292 and AR 357, as A3AR antagonists, are capable of blocking proliferation, modulating the expression of drug transporter genes involved in chemoresistance, ferroptosis, and the hypoxia response, and inducing cell death.

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

Compatibility studies of loquat scions with loquat and quince rootstocks [PDF]
Experiment 1. Rooting of quince hardwood cuttings: Rooting success was influenced by both the concentrations of IBA and the selection of rooting media. However, the control group (without IBA) notably enhanced rooting when compared to the various IBA concentrations.
