Reduced sediment accumulation rate enhances early marine diagenesis of periplatform sediments

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2026.
The influence of reduced sediment accumulation rate on early marine burial diagenesis was investigated in sediments collected by ODP Leg 133. Results show that low sediment accumulation rates can produce substantial and asynchronous shifts in stable carbon isotope ratios across a slope transect without the development of sedimentological indicators of ...

Depositional and stratigraphic evolution of a Permian megalake system: Implications for seiche‐influenced models

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2026.
During the Late Permian, the rise of the Gondwanides Belt trapped marine waters, giving birth to a vast megalake. This lake shifted between overfilled, balanced‐fill and underfilled stages that are recorded by high‐frequency accommodation changes, while meteorological seiches shaped the sedimentary dynamic and produced heterolithic beds.

High‐Resolution Digital Terrain Model and Land‐Surface Parameters of São Sebastião and Ilhabela, Southeastern Brazil

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 2, April 2026.
The first openly accessible 2 m‐resolution lidar‐based DTM and an extensive set of land‐surface parameters (LSPs) for the region of São Sebastião and Ilhabela, southeastern Brazil, reveal geomorphological features previously indiscernible, including past landslide deposits, drainage captures and structural lineaments.

Cultivating a ‘Habitus of Multiplicity’ in Cross‐Cultural Medicine: From Case Study Conflict to Many‐Sided Conditions of Care Through Process and Jain Metaphysics

open access: yesNursing Philosophy, Volume 27, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Prompted by a nursing case study that occurred in 2022, this paper joins the perspectives of a nurse practitioner and cross‐cultural medical ethics professor to consider who can ask a question in the healthcare system, what questions can be heard, and how to develop pluralistic care models—beyond relativism and imperialism—that solicit more ...

Changing Aerodynamic Roughness in WRF Reduces Bias and Improves Accuracy in Near‐Surface Wind Simulations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 6, 28 March 2026.
Abstract Accurate simulation of near‐surface wind speed is crucial for applications in renewable energy, dust emission, and air quality modeling. However, the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model systematically over‐estimates 10 m wind speed due to simplified representations of surface roughness and momentum exchange.
