A Lower Bound on the Mixing Time of Uniformly Ergodic Markov Chains in Terms of the Spectral Radius [PDF]
We give a bound on the mixing time of a uniformly ergodic, reversible Markov chain in terms of the spectral radius of the transition operator. This bound has been established previously in finite state spaces, and is widely believed to hold in general ...

Analytical and numerical study of the ground-track resonances of Dawn orbiting Vesta [PDF]
The aim of Dawn mission is the acquisition of data from orbits around two bodies, (4)Vesta and (1)Ceres, the two most massive asteroids. Due to the low thrust propulsion, Dawn will slowly cross and transit through ground-track resonances, where the ...

Hypertrophic scar formation is driven by excessive mitochondrial fission in wound macrophages, which we discover is governed by a novel AURKB‐DRP1(Ser616) axis. The study develops a targeted therapy using cRGD‐decorated extracellular vesicles to deliver the natural compound Asiaticoside specifically to macrophages.

MELEGROS: Monolithic Elephant‐Inspired Gripper with Optical Sensors
MELEGROS is a monolithic, elephant‐inspired soft gripper integrating 3D‐printed optical sensors within a pneumatically actuated lattice. Simulation‐guided design decouples tactile and proprioceptive sensing. Characterized through grasping tests, MELEGROS can reach, scoop, and grasp, showcasing a paradigm where fully embedded sensing and continuous ...

Inflation-Indexing Elements in Federal Entitlement Programs [PDF]
[Excerpt] In recent years, various proposals have been discussed in the context of ways to reduce federal budget deficits. One of the proposals, for example, is the use of a different measure of consumer price change to index various provisions of ...

This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

ZBTB21 is a transcription factor that epigenetically suppresses pyroptosis and MHC‐I antigen presentation, enabling tumor immune evasion. Genetic ablation of ZBTB21 activates pyroptotic cell death and enhances antigen presentation, recruiting CD8+ T cells to overcome immune checkpoint blockade resistance.

The connection between dusty star-forming galaxies and the first massive quenched galaxies
High-redshift (z ≳ 2) massive quiescent galaxies (MQs) provide an opportunity to probe the key physical processes driving the fuelling and quenching of star formation in the early Universe.
