The Evaluation of a New Daylighting System's Energy Performance: Reversible Daylighting System (RDS)

open access: yesASHRAE/IBPSA-USA Building Simulation Conference, 2022
This paper evaluates the energy performance of a new daylighting system, patented by the author, in a regular closed office space. The advantage of this new system as opposed to conventional venetian blinds is its rotating capability, which improves the energy efficiency of the space.

The New York Times Headquarters daylighting mockup: Monitored performance of the daylighting control system [PDF]

open access: yesEnergy and Buildings, 2006
A nine-month monitored field study of the performance of automated roller shades and daylighting controls was conducted in a 401 m 2 unoccupied, furnished daylighting mockup. The mockup mimicked the southwest corner of a new 110 km 2 commercial building in New York, New York, where The New York Times will be the major tenant.

Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...

Control of daylight and artefacts display and placement in historic museum galleries / Noraini Ahmad [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Daylighting in historic museum galleries is not an easy criterion to manage as natural light fluctuates according to the sky conditions; hence the need for strategic daylight control programme becomes evident.
