Development of annual daylight simulation algorithms for prediction of indoor daylight illuminance

Energy and Buildings, 2016
Abstract An annual daylight simulation method (ADSM) has been developed in this study to predict daylight illuminance under diverse sky conditions. The ADSM simulation results were validated by comparing them with Radiance software simulation results and field measurements. Classroom and small private office space facing south and north were used for

Computer Simulation in Daylight Design: A Comparison

Architectural Science Review, 2001
Four of the leading computer lighting simulation programs are compared with physical modelling techniques as a means of predicting daylighting of interior spaces. Lightscape (v3-l.l), RadioRay (v2.0), Microstation/J (v7.1Beta) and ADELINE (v2.0NT) are compared with a physical model under two types of artificial sky.

Daylight simulator

Applied Optics, 1987
We looked into what was required to make an artificial source similar to CIE daylight D(65) spectral power distribution. As a result, an artificial light source was developed with its 300-700-nm relative spectral power distribution similar to that defined by CIE D(65), based on a quartz-halogen lamp and colored absorbing glass filters in a side-by-side

Fabrication of a tunable daylight simulator

Applied Optics, 2010
Recently, solid state lighting has begun to play an important role in colorimetric instrumentation. LEDs are being evaluated as one of the possible standard light sources for such devices. In this study, an innovative tunable daylight simulator is developed, which mainly consists of only a few LEDs and a specially designed optical thin-film filter with

Standard daylight coefficient model for dynamic daylighting simulations

Building Research & Information, 2008
Daylight coefficients are normalized contributions from discretized sky or ground segments, or preset solar positions, to solar quantities calculated at various building sensor points. Once generated, daylight coefficients can be folded against luminance efficacy and distribution models to calculate, for instance, time series of illuminances.
