Daylight simulations and tubular light guides
Indoor visual comfort is one of the leading requirements for building design. Results of computer daylight simulations serve to optimise the design process. Computer programs Ecotect and Radiance were used for the simulation of daylighting from tubular light guides of various diameters and lengths.

The development of local solar irradiance for outdoor computer graphics rendering [PDF]
Atmospheric effects are approximated by solving the light transfer equation, LTE, of a given viewing path. The resulting accumulated spectral energy (its visible band) arriving at the observer’s eyes, defines the colour of the object currently on the ...

Daylight Utilization with Light Pipe in Farm Animal Production: A Simulation Approach
Light pipes offer a passive way to bring daylight inside deep buildings, such as agricultural buildings. However, the lack of reliable performance predictability methods for light pipes represents a major obstacle preventing their widespread use.

Discussing daylight simulations in a proposal for online daylighting education
There is increasing interest concerning daylighting in the building sector. However, such knowledge is difficult to penetrate the curricula of architects and designers as existing educational programmes often do not provide sufficient training on BPS. This also leads to superficial use of daylight simulations. This paper presents a proposal for a needs ...
