The influence of power and frequency on the filamentary behavior of a flowing DBD-application to the splitting of CO2

open access: yes, 2016
In this experimental study, a flowing dielectric barrier discharge operating at atmospheric pressure is used for the splitting of CO2 into O2 and CO. The influence of the applied frequency and plasma power on the microdischarge properties is investigated

Studying the magnetic, antibacterial, and catalytic activity properties of DBD/iron oxide nanoparticle-treated cotton fabric

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2018
In this study, the cotton fabrics were modified with dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). Untreated and DBD-treated cotton fabrics were printed with magnetic nanoparticles (γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles). Argon was used as the working gas.

The Stability, Rheological Properties and Interfacial Properties of Oil-in-Water (O/W) Emulsions Prepared from Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) Cold Plasma-Treated Chickpea Protein Isolate and Myofibrillar Protein Complexes

open access: yesFoods, 2023
In order to increase the development and utilization of chickpea protein isolate (CPI) and improve the stability of myofibrillar protein (MP) emulsions, the effect of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma-modified CPI on the emulsifying properties of

Effect of Methylphenidate on Resting-State Connectivity in Adolescents With a Disruptive Behavior Disorder: A Double-Blind Randomized Placebo-Controlled fMRI Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2021
Some studies suggest that methylphenidate (MPH) might be an effective treatment for antisocial and aggressive behavior in adolescence. However, little is known about the mechanism of action of MPH in adolescents with this kind of psychopathology.

Electronic properties of very thin native SiO2/a-Si:H interfaces and their comparison with those prepared by both dielectric barrier discharge oxidation at atmospheric pressure and by chemical oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The contribution deals with electronic properties of thin oxide/amorphous hydrogenated silicon (a-Si:H) measured by capacitance-voltage (C-V) and charge version of deep level transient spectroscopy (Q-DLTS). The interest was focused on the studies of the

Which executive functioning deficits are associated with AD/HD, ODD/CD and comorbid AD/HD+ODD/CD? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Item does not contain fulltextThis study investigated (1) whether attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) is associated with executive functioning (EF) deficits while controlling for oppositional defiant disorder/conduct disorder (ODD/CD), (2 ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Variation in the mechanical unfolding pathway of p53DBD induced by interaction with p53 N-terminal region or DNA. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The tumor suppressor p53 plays a crucial role in the cell cycle checkpoints, DNA repair, and apoptosis. p53 consists of a natively unfolded N-terminal region (NTR), central DNA binding domain (DBD), C-terminal tetramerization domain, and regulatory ...

Disjoint compatibility graph of non-crossing matchings of points in convex position [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Let $X_{2k}$ be a set of $2k$ labeled points in convex position in the plane. We consider geometric non-intersecting straight-line perfect matchings of $X_{2k}$.
