Biomimetically Enhanced Demineralized Bone Matrix for Bone Regenerative Applications

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2015
Demineralized bone matrix (DBM) is one of the most widely used bone graft materials in dentistry. However, the ability of DBM to reliably and predictably induce bone regeneration has always been a cause for concern.

Functional Identification of Px-fringe and Px-engrailed Genes under Heat Stress in Chlorpyrifos-Resistant and -Susceptible Plutela xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae)

open access: yesInsects, 2020
In our previous research, the fitness cost of resistance of the diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella found in insecticide-resistant DBM (Rc-DBM) under heat stress was based on heavier damage to wing veins when compared to insecticide-susceptible ...

Comparison of osteogenesis of bovine bone xenografts between true bone ceramics and decalcified bone matrix

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine, 2022
Xenograft bone scaffolds have certain advantages such as mechanical strength, osteoinductive properties, sufficient source and safety. This study aimed to compare osteogenesis of the two main bovine bone xenografts namely true bone ceramics (TBC) and ...

Drag-Based Model (DBM) Tools for Forecast of Coronal Mass Ejection Arrival Time and Speed

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
Forecasting the arrival time of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and their associated shocks is one of the key aspects of space weather research. One of the commonly used models is the analytical drag-based model (DBM) for heliospheric propagation of CMEs ...

Experimental investigation of the impact of optical injection on vital parameters of a gain-switched pulse source [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An analysis of optical injection on a gain-switched distributed feedback (DFB) laser and its impact on pulse parameters that influence the performance of the pulse source in high-speed optical communication systems is presented in this paper.

Symmetry Enhanced Unconventional Spin Current Anisotropy in a Collinear Antiferromagnet

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spin‐orbit torques (SOTs) are investigated in epitaxial FeSn, a topological antiferromagnet with kagome lattice symmetry. Combining experimental and theoretical approaches, the study identifies a six‐fold conventional damping‐like spin‐orbit torque (DL SOT), along with the coexistence of both six‐fold and uniaxial unconventional field‐like torque (FL ...

Phase Change Material‐Driven Tunable Metasurface for Adaptive Terahertz Sensing and Communication in 6G Perceptive Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the benefits of metasurfaces made from functional materials, highlighting their ability to be adapted and improved for various high‐frequency applications, including communications and sensing. It first demonstrates the potential of these functional material‐based metasurfaces to advance the field of sub‐THz perceptive networks ...

Theoretical and experimental design of an alternative system to 2 x 2 MIMO for LTE over 60 km directly modulated RoF link [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Relay nodes (RN) are used as an important structure to extend the coverage of the Third Generation Partnership Program’s Long Term Evolution (3GPP-LTE). The promising technology as the interface between eNodeB (eNB) and RN is radio-over-fibre (RoF), due ...

Ultrafast Terahertz Field Control of the Emergent Magnetic and Electronic Interactions at Oxide Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Intense single‐cycle THz electric‐field pulses enable ultrafast control of emergent electronic and magnetic states at LaNiO3/CaMnO3 interfaces. Combined X‐ray and optical probes reveal sub‐picosecond demagnetization driven by spin‐polarized currents and slower magnetoelastic dynamics linked to spin–lattice coupling.
