A Widely Tunable Three-Section DBR Lasers for Multi-Species Gas Detection
We demonstrate a widely tunable distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser operating at 1.8-µm, in which the DBR section was butt-jointed InGaAsP (λ = 1.45 μm) material. Through current and temperature tuning, a widely tuning range of over 11 nm with a side

Optical Tamm state theory study on asymmetric DBR-metal-DBR structure
As a special metal surface state, optical Tamm state (OTS) has been widely used in designing the new generation of optical devices for its unique advantages in light control and operation. Based on distribute Bragg reflector (DBR)-metal-DBR (DMD)structure, asymmetric mechanism is introduced by mismatching central frequencies of the two DBRs to design ...

Bio‐Inspired Synthesis of Macroporous Single Crystal Particles as Scattering Agents
A general strategy is presented that delivers unique, single‐crystal microparticles that combine submicron macroporosity and uniform particle shapes. A bioinspired approach is used to occlude three distinct types of additives – polystyrene microspheres, polymer vesicles and amino acids – within calcite single crystals, and subsequent thermal annealing ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.
