Dynamic properties of silicon-integrated short-wavelength hybrid-cavity VCSEL [PDF]
We present a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) where a GaAs-based "half-VCSEL" is attached to a dielectric distributed Bragg reflector on silicon using ultra-thin divinylsiloxane-bis-benzocyclobutene (DVS-BCB) adhesive bonding, creating a ...

High‐efficiency nano‐phosphor thin films were developed for micro‐LED color conversion, achieving high quantum efficiency and reduced lateral photon displacement. The optimized film structure effectively suppresses color crosstalk and enables high‐performance, full‐color micro‐LED displays.

Narrow Linewidth Distributed Bragg Reflectors Based on InGaN/GaN Laser
A variety of emerging technologies, such as visible light communication systems, require narrow linewidths and easy-to-integrate light sources. Such a requirement could be potentially fulfilled with the distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers, which are

Implementing PLS for distance-based regression: computational issues [PDF]
Distance-based regression allows for a neat implementation of the Partial Least Squares recurrence. In this paper we address practical issues arising when dealing with moderately large datasets (n ~ 10^4) such as those typical of automobile insurance ...

Spectroscopic applications and frequency locking of THz photomixing with distributed-Bragg-reflector diode lasers in low-temperature-grown GaAs [PDF]
A compact, narrow-linewidth, tunable source of THz radiation has been developed for spectroscopy and other high-resolution applications. Distributed-Bragg-reflector (DBR) diode lasers at 850 nm are used to pump a low-temperature-grown GaAs photomixer ...

Novel Sulfur‐Rich Polymers from Inverse Vulcanization as Functional Building Blocks for Photonics
Isopropenyl aromatic comonomers, in particular novel 2,7‐diisopropenylfluorene and 2,8‐diisopropenyldibenzothiophene, synthesized by sustainable, facile, single‐step SMCCR from available brominated substrates are exploited in the Inverse Vulcanization process to obtain functional Sulfur‐rich macromolecular materials.

The authors present for the first time DBR-emission in an electrically pumped CdZnSe/ZnSSe/MgZnSSe laser at room temperature. Longitudinal singlemode emission is observed. By changing the period of the Bragg reflector, the emission peak can be tuned over >40 meV.

Suitable habitat of Himalayan wolf in Upper Mustang, Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal
Decades ago, the Himalayan wolf Canis lupus chanco, a genetically distinct sub‐species of the gray wolf Canis lupus, faced persecution by local communities in the Nepalese Himalayas. Recently, wolf populations have returned and recolonized, sparking concerns about conflicts over livestock depredation, and emphasizing the urgent need for comprehensive ...

Dry brewery residue in broiler chickens feed
The residual from the food industry has the potential to replace the traditional ingredients used in animal feed, and the dry brewery residue (DBR) may be an alternative for this purpose.
