Suitable habitat of Himalayan wolf in Upper Mustang, Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal
Decades ago, the Himalayan wolf Canis lupus chanco, a genetically distinct sub‐species of the gray wolf Canis lupus, faced persecution by local communities in the Nepalese Himalayas. Recently, wolf populations have returned and recolonized, sparking concerns about conflicts over livestock depredation, and emphasizing the urgent need for comprehensive ...

Narrow Linewidth Distributed Bragg Reflectors Based on InGaN/GaN Laser
A variety of emerging technologies, such as visible light communication systems, require narrow linewidths and easy-to-integrate light sources. Such a requirement could be potentially fulfilled with the distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) lasers, which are

Demonstration of a heterogeneously integrated III-V/SOI single wavelength tunable laser [PDF]
A heterogeneously integrated III-V-on-silicon laser is reported, integrating a III-V gain section, a silicon ring resonator for wavelength selection and two silicon Bragg grating reflectors as back and front mirrors.

ABSTRACT This study examines the spillover effect of bank financial misconduct on the uninsured deposits of peer banks within local markets. We first validate that misconduct banks experience an increase in deposit spreads and a corresponding outflow of deposits following the misconduct. We then show local peer banks exhibit divergent deposit responses,

The authors present for the first time DBR-emission in an electrically pumped CdZnSe/ZnSSe/MgZnSSe laser at room temperature. Longitudinal singlemode emission is observed. By changing the period of the Bragg reflector, the emission peak can be tuned over >40 meV.

Scattering systems with several evolutions and formal reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces [PDF]
A Schur-class function in $d$ variables is defined to be an analytic contractive-operator valued function on the unit polydisk. Such a function is said to be in the Schur--Agler class if it is contractive when evaluated on any commutative $d$-tuple of ...

Transforming Fabry-Perot resonances into a Tamm mode
We propose a novel photonic structure composed of metal nanolayer, Bragg mirror and metal nanolayer. The structure supports resonances that are transitional between Fabry-Perot and Tamm modes.

Zero Dimensional Polariton Laser in a Sub-Wavelength Grating Based Vertical Microcavity [PDF]
Semiconductor exciton-polaritons in planar microcavities form coherent two-dimensional condensates in non-equilibrium. However, coupling of multiple lower-dimensional polariton quantum systems, critically needed for polaritonic quantum device ...
