Riverine Flood Forecasting Using Advanced Deep Learning Approaches

open access: yesJAWRA Journal of the American Water Resources Association, Volume 62, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate riverine flood forecasting is crucial for effective river management. This paper utilized the Time‐Series Dense Encoder (TiDE), Neural Hierarchical Interpolation for Time Series Forecasting (N‐HiTS), and Patch Time Series Transformer (PatchTST) to forecast riverine flood and benchmarked their results against Long Short‐Term Memory ...

Benchmarking of Reference‐Based Tools for Strain‐Level Resolution of Plant Microbiome

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 7, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Strain‐level identification of each microbe is crucial for understanding its role in the host. Most of the existing tools have primarily been evaluated on human metagenomic datasets, whereas the plant microbiome exhibits greater diversity and complexity and thus poses a challenge in the strain‐level resolution of individual microbes.

Deciphering Recent Developments in Photocatalysis of Multimetallic Metal–Organic Frameworks and Their Composite Heterojunctions

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
This review explores the potential of multimetallic organic framework (MMOF) composites as photocatalysts. It demonstrates the impact of the composite architecture on the photocatalytic performance and existing challenges. The paper highlights heterojunction mechanisms and the role of each partner composites in degradation, CO2 reduction, H2 production,

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 600, Issue 17, Page 2420-2436, September 2026.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

A yeast model of 5‐oxoproline accumulation reveals a general toleration to 5‐oxoproline

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 9, Page 1752-1765, September 2026.
Using a yeast model, we show that even high accumulation of 5‐oxoproline causes only mild cellular stress and does not trigger oxidative stress. Instead, cells adapt by activating efflux pumps and diverse protective pathways, suggesting that previously proposed harmful effects of 5‐oxoproline may arise from indirect metabolic imbalances rather than the
