Determination of the minimum quantity of irradiated ferritic steel specimens for small punch DBTT testing

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1991
Abstract The small punch (SP) test technique using TEM disk miniaturized specimens has been developed to evaluate the ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) for irradiated ferritic structural steels. The SP tests were performed for F-82 (8Cr-2W-V), F-82H with Ta and HT-9 (12Cr-lMo-V-W) ferritic steels under consideration for demonstrating a ...

Study of effect of loading rate on fracture toughness of SA516Gr.70 steel for nuclear pressure vessel and piping in DBTT regime and evaluation of shift in reference transition temperature

open access: closed, 2020
The objective of this work is to quantify the effect of loading rate on scatter as well as temperature-dependence of cleavage fracture toughness data of SA516 Gr.70 steel in the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) regime.

Determination of DBTT of functionally graded steels using Artificial Intelligence

2023
This study applied three Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to project the ductile to the brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of functionally graded steels (FGS). These prediction models are Minimax Probability Machine Regression (MPMR) model, Genetic Programming (GP), and Emotional Neural Network (ENN) algorithms with strong prediction performance.

Experimental and FEA Investigations on the Fracture Properties of Pipe Structures Under Internal Pressure in DBTT Region

Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2009
The fracture behavior of pipes with penetrating cracks was experimentally investigated with the results of the load-deflection curves and crack length. J-R curves were obtained from the testing results for different temperatures. With the decrement in temperature, the critical J integral decreases and the tearing modulus increases. An updated continuum

Applicability of a Deterministic Approach to Transfer the Minimum Fracture Toughness Between Different Temperatures in the DBTT Region

Volume 3: Design and Analysis, 2016
In this paper, we demonstrate that a deterministic approach requiring only tensile test data for different temperatures has a possibility to predict the minimum fracture toughness for these temperatures. The material is assumed to be in the Ductile-to-Brittle-Transition Temperature (DBTT) region.
