DC/AC converters are used in situations when the primary source is DC (battery, DC motor-generator, solar cells, etc.) and the loads require an AC supply. Since a DC source is inverted to an AC source of energy, DC/AC converters are often called the inverters.

IECEC '02. 2002 37th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference, 2002., 2005
This work describes a power conversion circuit topology for single-phase DC/AC boost inverter, based on the DC/DC boost converter. It mainly consists of a full-bridge boost converter, which is capable of providing AC output voltage regulation with low distortion.

Frequency control of DC/AC inverter
2016 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC), 2016In this paper, sliding mode control (SMC) methodology is developed for control of the switching frequency for a DC/AC inverter. The Sliding mode control design for three phase load is formulated in terms of switching devices of the power converter. The main obstacle for application of the sliding mode control is called chattering and the amplitude of ...

Design of Delta-Sigma Modulators for DC/AC Inverters
2019 IEEE 8th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2019In a DC/AC inverter, a switching circuit turns DC on and off repeatedly to generate a multi-level signal, which is fed into an electrical circuit. This paper adopts a Delta-Sigma modulator in place of often used PWM to improve the quality of the output waveform of the inverter, by taking advantage of the knowledge about the circuit.

Compact DC/AC inverter for large electroluminescent lamp
ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002A compact DC/AC inverter for a large electroluminescent (EL) lamp is presented and experimentally studied. The inverter topology based on the push-pull inverter, and its operations are similar to that of the flyback converter. The DC input voltage is converted to a high frequency AC voltage by the push-pull inverter at a switching frequency of 50 kHz ...

A study of series-resonant DC/AC inverter
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1996A new DC/AC inversion for achieving an AC sinusoidal waveform synthesized by a series of quasi-sinusoidal pulses is described. A modified pulse-width-modulated (PWM) controller is presented for driving the power switch to operate in a forced discontinuous-conduction mode (FDCM) so as to achieve series-resonance in the power stage.

An integrated DC-AC inverter for electroluminescent lamps
Design of Circuits and Integrated Systems, 2014An integrated DC to AC converter is proposed based on the Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) control principle in order to implement the conversion process. The proposed circuit consists of 4 stages. The first stage is a DC-DC converter to boost up the V dd voltage.

A novel single phase DC-AC inverter
2012 IEEE Student Conference on Research and Development (SCOReD), 2012This paper presents a new topology of single phase full-bridge dc-ac inverter. In this topology, a switch is connected at the lower arm of the full-bridge switches to control the output voltage across the full-bridge inverter. The switch at the lower arm of the full-bridge controls the output of full-bridge inverter by increasing or reducing the ...

Push-pull dc/ac inverter for large electroluminescent lamp
Proceedings of the 2003 International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003. ISCAS '03., 2003Our push-pull dc/ac inverter for large electroluminescent lamps consists of a new ZVCS resonant push-pull dc/dc converter. It converts a low input voltage (battery) to a high voltage (about 300 V) at high conversion efficiency. We can convert the high voltage by a half-bridge inverter for application to the electroluminescent lamp load, by 1200 cm/sup ...
