Novel regulated DC/DC and DC/AC power converters
International Journal of Renewable Energy Technology, 2009Power sources with a desired voltage profiles, are required in many applications including renewable energy. Although in most cases, a sinusoidal waveform of specified amplitude and frequency is of interest, other types of voltage profiles, such as square, trapezoidal, triangular, etc., may also be required in amplifiers, shakers, mechatronics, etc ...

DC-AC photonic power converters with liquid crystal optical modulators
Optics LettersIn this Letter, we propose a power-switch-free (PSF) DC–AC photonic power converter (PPC) that utilizes liquid-crystal optical modulators (LCOMs) to commutate optical flux, thereby eliminating the need for power switches and avoiding switching-induced electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Predictive Control Strategy for DC/AC Converters Based on Direct Power Control
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2007This paper proposes predictive direct power control (P-DPC), a new control approach where the well-known direct power control is combined with predictive selection of a voltage-vectors' sequence, obtaining both high transient dynamics and a constant-switching frequency.

Parallel DC/AC Converters under Connection/Disconnection of Power Modules
2012 VI Andean Region International Conference, 2012Paralleling converters is normally employed to increase power capacity in different applications, such as autonomous micro grid systems and unininterruptible power supplies. These systems share the current between the different converters, but it must be in an equalized manner, no matter different type of loads or conditions.

VHDL design for teaching DC/AC converters in a power electronics course
2016 Conference on Design of Circuits and Integrated Systems (DCIS), 2016This work presents the FPGA design of a DC/AC pulse width modulated converter for teaching purposes. The design allows to change in real time the PWM modulation scheme, the amplitude and frequency of the desired first harmonic, as well as the harmonic spectrum depending on the requirements of the application.

Soft switched capacitively coupled DC-AC converter for high power
Conference Record of the 1993 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Twenty-Eighth IAS Annual Meeting, 2002A capacitively coupled DC-AC power converter which is capable of zero current soft switching is presented. A form of amplitude modulation is introduced to provide a sinusoidal output waveform. Due to its favorable current stresses on the switches, this converter is suitable for high current high power inductive load applications.

Linear Control Approaches for DC-AC and AC-DC Power Converters
2013This chapter addresses linear techniques for controlling the average (low-frequency) behavior of power electronic converters that include not only DC but also AC power stages. Without being exhaustive, the chapter focuses on the most-used control methods applied to somewhat popular single-phase and three-phase PWM- or full-wave-operated power ...
