Switched-capacitorized DC/DC converters
2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009Switched capacitor DC/DC converters are new prototype of DC/DC conversion technology. Since switched capacitor can be integrated into a power IC chip, consequently, these converters have small size and high power density. Switched capacitor can be used in voltage-lift technique to construct DC/DC converters.

Linear-assisted DC/DC converters (or linear-switching hybrid DC/DC converters) consist of a voltage linear regulator (classic NPN or nMOS topologies and LDO) connected in parallel with a switching DC/DC converter. In order to control these hybrid structures, different strategies exist, allowing to fix the switching frequency as a function of some ...

In principle, the pulse DC/DC converters consist of two parts, a basic circuit and a regulating assembly. The basic circuit comprises of switches (usually a transistor and a diode), a choke and/or a transformer, and a capacitor. By turning on and off the switches in a controlled manner, the required amount of energy is transferred through the switches ...

This chapter deals with three main topologies of DC/DC converters: buck, boost, and buck-boost. After a short presentation of linear conversion drawbacks, fundamentals on switching conversion are explained. The DC/DC converters are analyzed in continuous and discontinuous operating mode and main parameters as gain, critical inductance, and load voltage

Micromechanical dc-dc converter
2001A micromechanical silicon device suitable for DC-DC voltage up-conversion is investigated theoretically. The behavior of the converter is simulated in the time domain using a circuit simulator. In simulations ignoring parasitic capacitances, DC voltage of level of 16 V is increased to 32 V using a micromechanical converter. The output power is 2 mW for
