Constant frequency resonant topologies for bidirectional DC/DC power conversion

Proceedings of IEEE Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC '93, 2002
The use of unidirectional constant frequency (CF) DC-DC power converter families based on quasi-resonant, quasi-square-wave (QSW), and multi-resonant topologies for bidirectional power conversion is proposed. The complete analysis and design considerations for bidirectional buck/boost CF-ZVS-QSW power converters are discussed in terms of switching and ...

Resonant DC-DC converter for high efficiency bidirectional power conversion

2013 Twenty-Eighth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2013
For achieving the high gain characteristics of LLC resonant converters in both of the power flow directions for bidirectional power transfer applications, a bidirectional LLC resonant converter with auxiliary switches is proposed. Auxiliary switches are connected in the primary and secondary sides of the proposed converter, respectively.

Single-cycle resonant bidirectional DC/DC power conversion

Proceedings Eighth Annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition,, 2002
Two new families of bidirectional DC/DC converters suitable for high frequency high efficiency operation are proposed, based on single-cycle resonant (SCyR) topology. The ZCS/ZVS and ZVS/ZCS-SCyR bidirectional converter families are capable of resonant operation from no-load to full-load, and they have load independent PWM-like characteristics ...

Bidirectional DC/DC power conversion using quasi-resonant topology

PESC `92 Record. 23rd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2003
A family of zero-current-switching/zero-voltage-switching and zero-voltage-switching/zero-current-switching quasi-resonant bidirectional DC/DC converters suitable for high-frequency operation based on a bidirectional quasi-resonant switch is proposed. These converters are realizable with only two power MOSFETs.

Control Methods in DC-DC Power Conversion - A Comparative Study

2007 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2007
Several control techniques for dc-dc power conversion and regulation have been studied in this paper. Analog approaches have briefly been described since the focus is the newly developed digital techniques. Principles of operation, advantages, and disadvantages of each control method have been described. Simulation results have been used to compare the

Autonomous DC-DC Power Conversion Process Control Design and Simulation

2019 IEEE National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON), 2019
This paper presents an autonomous bidirectional DC-DC power controller that provides high efficiency, reliable, fault-tolerant, and intelligent power conversions between a DC source and sink. Real-time sensor data and feedback information are processed inside a single Xilinx Artix-7 field programming logic array (FPGA) chip.

Electrodeposited Nanolaminated CoNiFe Cores for Ultracompact DC–DC Power Conversion

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2015
Laminated metallic alloy cores (i.e., alternating layers of thin film metallic alloy and insulating material) of appropriate lamination thickness enable suppression of eddy current losses at high frequencies. Magnetic cores comprised of many such laminations yield substantial overall magnetic volume, thereby enabling high-power operation.

Efficient Secondary Power Conversion Techniques in Multi-output DC-DC Converters

2020 IEEE First International Conference on Smart Technologies for Power, Energy and Control (STPEC), 2020
In this paper, two efficient secondary power conversion schemes are described to meet stringent load regulation in multi-output DC-DC converters with high load current requirements of the order 1A to 4A. Presently for space usage, conventional linear regulators are used in DC-DC converters to meet the output voltage regulation over wide range of load ...

A DC-DC conversion system for high power HVDC-connected photovoltaic power system

2017 20th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2017
A novel isolated high step-up gain DC-DC conversion system for HVDC grid-connected PV power generation applications is proposed in this paper. The proposed system has a distributed MPPT and centralized step-up DC-DC configuration. By employing distributed MPPT converter, high power losses caused by partial shading of the PV arrays can be reduced ...
