DC Link Capacitor Voltage Balancing Method for Diode-Clamped Multilevel Converters
2019 IEEE 28th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE), 2019This paper proposes a new capacitor voltage balancing method for diode-clamped multilevel inverters. In this method, proper redundant switching state is selected according to clamp points' voltages. The proposed method is independent of the phase and level numbers and is computationally optimized for practical implementation.

DC-Link Voltage Balancing and Regulation of Split-Capacitor VSI Based DSTATCOM
2020 IEEE International Conference on Power Systems Technology (POWERCON), 2020In this paper, a modified VSI based Split Capacitor distribution static compensator (SC-DSTATCOM) is presented to ensure the quality of power in a distribution system. The imbalance of voltage across the split capacitors of SC-DSTATCOM is a serious issue when a load current contains dc components.

DC-link capacitors voltage balancing in multilevel four-leg diode-clamped converters
31st Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2005. IECON 2005., 2005Multilevel four-leg four-wire converters are creating increasing interest nowadays in applications as active filters. They present several advantages compared to the three-leg converter topologies. Recently the control complexity has been reduced thanks to the use of new and powerful microprocessor systems, hence the balance of the DC-link voltage is ...

About the DC-link capacitors voltage balance in multi-point clamped converters
IECON '98. Proceedings of the 24th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (Cat. No.98CH36200), 2002The multi-point clamped converter (MPCC) represents an interesting technical solution to overcome the limitations in voltage and power posed by the existing semiconductor devices. However, if real power must be delivered to the load, DC-link capacitors exhibit a problematic voltage unbalance, that can be faced in both active or passive ways, that is ...

DC-link Capacitor Voltage Balancing Control for Series Half Bridge LLC Resonant Converter
2020 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2020This paper presents control methods that achieve DC-link capacitor voltage balance of a series half bridge (SHB) LLC resonant converter operating at different modulation schemes. The principle of the proposed balancing control method is analyzed and studied based on six normally used operation modes of the SHB LLC converter.

Common mode-voltage elimination and DC-link balancing for three-level inverter
International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Intelligent Systems (SEISCON 2011), 2011The paper presents the effects and importance of parameters like harmonics and currents that are to be accounted for the satisfactory performance of an inverter. Practically known problems such as common-mode voltage between inverter and load neutral and the dc-link unbalance of source capacitors are affect the performances of the inverter.
