Design and DC fault clearance of modified hybrid MMC with low proportion of full‐bridge submodules

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
The hybrid modular multilevel converter (MMC) consisting of half bridge submodules (HBSMs) and full bridge submodules (FBSMs) combines the respective advantages of both submodules.

Prospects and Challenges of 4H-SiC Thyristors in Protection of HB-MMC-VSC-HVDC Converters

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics, 2021
Pole-to-pole DC faults on HB-MMC-VSC-HVDC schemes impose significant risk of cascade failure on IGBT/diode pairs. Other novel topologies with fault blocking capability, i.e. AAC converters, and DC circuit breakers are not yet fully matured.

Modular multilevel converter composite submodule topology and control

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The DC-side short-circuit fault suppression of modular multilevel converter (MMC) applied to DC transmission has been a technical problem. According to the different location of cutting off fault current, this study first analyses three possible ...

Designing of a Simulation Tool for the Performance Analysis of Hybrid Data Center Networks (DCNs)

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
Data center (DC) technology changes the mode of computing. Traditional DCs consist of a single layer and only have Ethernet connections among switches. Those old-fashioned DCs cannot fulfill the high resource demand compared with today’s DCs.

Reliability Assessment of Conventional Isolated PWM DC-DC Converters

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper sets forth the reliability analysis of conventional isolated pulse width modulation DC-DC (IDC-DC) converters. The IDC-DC converters are categorized into isolated single-switch DC-DC (ISSDC-DC) or multiple-switch DC-DC (IMSDC-DC) converters ...

A Hybrid Three-Level ZVZCS Converter for Photovoltaic Power Connecting to MVDC Collection System

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Compared with the medium voltage ac (MVAC) collection system, the medium voltage dc (MVDC) one for renewable energy sources has many advantages. High-power dc/dc converters are one of the key stages of the MVDC collection system to boost the voltage ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

New Monolithic Modular DC-DC Converter for Constant Current Offshore Interconnection With VSC HVdc Network

open access: yesIEEE Access
The rapid growth in HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) grids has shown the falls of point-to-point connections. Several challenges such as the requirement of DC (Direct Current) fault blocking capability, interfacing of different grounding schemes ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
