A study on DC component method of on-line diagnosis for XLPE cables
IEEE International Conference on Properties and Applications of Dielectric Materials, 1994Many research papers show that water treeing is one of main causes of insulation degradation of XLPE cables. A DC component will be produced through the insulation of the cable containing water trees, when the cable is stressed with AC voltage.

DC component effect on Electrical Ageing tests
2019 IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (CEIDP), 2019The Partial Discharge phenomenon represents one of the major causes of the deterioration and ageing of the insulating systems of electric machines and, consequently, leads to a considerable shortening of their lifetime. Although the theory and practice focus more on partial discharges caused by a sinusoidal power supply, this study aims to analyze the ...

Interpolation of the DC component of coded images using a rational filter
Proceedings of International Conference on Image Processing, 1997In this paper, the problem of the interpolation of the DC components of JPEG or MPEG-coded images is addressed, and the use of nonlinear interpolators is proposed which are able to accurately reconstruct the images yielding both sharp details and low ...

Components Based DCS Design Method
2003As the world marketplace becomes increasingly customer-driven, manufacturing environments must be highly re-configurable and responsive to accommodate product and process changes, with rigid, static automation systems giving way to more flexible types.

Improved image reproduction from dc components
Optical Engineering, 1996The Joint Photographic Expert Group standard provides a block smoothing method, that can be used to improve the visual quality of images reproduced from the dc coefficients alone. The method predicts ac coefficients of a block in terms of the dc values of the surrounding blocks. This note presents a new set of prediction equations.

Phasor estimation considering DC component using UKF
2011 International Conference on Advanced Power System Automation and Protection, 2011Electric power quality is ability of the system to deliver electric power service in high quality so that the end use equipment will operate within its design specifications. Introducing power generation using renewable energy can increase regulations and need for reserves due to its natural intermittency.

Minimizing Power Components of Isolated DC-DC Converters
2012Design of isolated DC-DC converters is discussed in this paper. A method for the selection of power components is presented, which is based on the search of the set of commercial devices ensuring the most convenient size vs losses trade-off vs reliability trade-off.

Design considerations for high voltage DC components
IEEE Electrical Insulation Magazine, 2012The most important point which the authors hope that a reader will take away from this discussion is that an intuitive understanding of how the world works in the context of DC systems (which includes any system with substantial relaxation toward a restively graded state) allows many properties of such a system to be predicted either from first ...

Component minimized AC/DC/AC converter with DC-link capacitors voltages balancing
IEEE EUROCON 2009, 2009This paper investigates component minimized topology of single-phase to three-phase AC/DC/AC Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) converter. It consists of half-bridge rectifier and two-leg (B4) inverter and is designed for low-power induction machine (IM) drive application.

Generalized design of passive components for ultracapacitor based bidirectional DC-DC converters
2016 IEEE Annual India Conference (INDICON), 2016This paper presents the design of passives for an ultracapacitor (UC) based dc-dc power supply which provides energy backup to critical loads in case of momentary power main failures. Unlike in a typical bidirectional dc-dc converter, in a UC based bidirectional converter, the interfacing inductor design has to accommodate both charging and discharging
