open access: yes, 2012
Integration of renewable resources such as remote solar or wind farms and electricpower trading between neighbouring countries lead to new requirements on the development of thetransmission grids. Since AC grid expansion is limited by e.g.

A Comprehensive Review of Waste‐Derived Materials for Solar Still Performance Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solar desalination reduces energy use and produces freshwater sustainably, but its productivity is limited and cannot meet rising demand. Thus, solar desalination system improvements are sought to boost water productivity. Waste materials are abundantly available and burden the environment, making them low‐cost enhancers for solar desalination

Beam Diffraction by a Planar Grid Structure at 93 GHz [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The idea of using diode grids for electronic beam steering was introduced by Lam et al [l]. As shown in Figure 1, when an incident beam reflects off the diode grid, the direction of the reflected wave can be controlled by progressively varying the ...

Optical Manipulation of Multiferroic Phases in BiFeO3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
At the strain‐driven morphotropic phase boundary, optical control over the multiferroic rhombohedral and tetragonal phase mixture is demonstrated using above‐bandgap light illumination. The photoinduced charge carriers modify the electrostatic environment and induce the conversion into a single tetragonal phase.

Stability analysis of grid-following converter considering DC side dynamics

open access: yes电力工程技术
DC side dynamics are ignored in most of the research on grid-connected converter, which is dealt as a constant voltage source. In this case, the analysis result of small-signal stability is affected to some extent.

Improvement of grid injected currents in single-phase inverters rejecting DC link voltage oscillations based on multi-resonant filtering

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The operation of grid-tied single-phase inverters generates oscillations in its DC link voltage. If only active/reactive power is controlled by the inverter, this oscillation is at twice the grid frequency. In situations where the inverter output current

Quasi‐Random Nanostructured Substrates for Enhancing Light Outcoupling in OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Organic light–emitting diodes (OLEDs) suffer from low light outcoupling efficiency, with much of the generated light trapped within the device. To address this issue, we present a scalable, maskless, polymer‐free strategy for fabricating quasi‐random external nanowire (ENW) and internal nanocorrugation (INC) structures directly on glass ...

DC Nano-grid System in the Future Sustainable Building

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2011
In recent years, in order to solve the problems generated by renewable energy distributed generation, some foreign scholars have proposed “DC Nano-grid” which can combine generation, storage, load and control system.
