Heart transplantation graft survival following donation after circulatory death via thoracoabdominal normothermic regional perfusion

open access: yesJHLT Open
Background: The impact of thoracoabdominal normothermic regional perfusion (TA-NRP) use in donation after circulatory death (DCD) on rates of graft survival after heart transplantation has yet to be established.

Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate Meltblown Nonwoven With Annular Meltblown Die: Processability and Structure–Property Relationship

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Schematics of meltblown fiber formation with key processing parameters and their influences on processing window and nonwoven barrier properties. ABSTRACT This study evaluates the meltblown processing behavior of Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate (PBAT), one of promising biodegradable polymers, and investigates the complex processing–structure ...

Spatial Accuracy and Variability in Dart Throwing in Children with Developmental Coordination Disorder and the Relationship with Ball Skill Items

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Investigation in Health, Psychology and Education
The present study aimed to examine precision and variability in dart throwing performance and the relationships between these outcomes and bouncing, throwing and catching tasks in children with and without DCD. Children between the ages of 8 and 10 years

Apigenin Protects Hypertensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage by Regulating Trx1 Through Binding to PRDX2

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remains the most severe stroke subtype with high mortality and disability rates. Although apigenin has shown cerebroprotective potential in preclinical studies, its mechanism of action, particularly in hypertensive ICH, remains poorly understood.

The 5T Paradox of Triclosan: From Toiletries to Toxic Trash, a Growing Threat to Humanity

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Triclosan (TCS) persists as a contaminant of concern in the Anthropocene, despite regulatory actions. Environmental dissemination continues through wastewater effluents, biosolid application, and improper disposal practices. This narrative review synthesizes current evidence regarding triclosan's environmental fate, transformation pathways ...

The use of visually guided behaviour in children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) when crossing a virtual road [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The ability to safely cross a road is a perceptual-motor skill that involves coordination between a pedestrian’s perception of the approaching vehicles and their locomotive capability to execute the road crossing action.

Texture Analysis Using Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Measurement During Porcine Hypothermic Oxygenated Machine Perfusion

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
A novel quantitative method using Indocyanine Green (ICG) fluorescence image for assessing organ viability during hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE), specifically focusing on homogeneous flow distribution analyzed with the gray‐scale level co‐occurrence matrix (GLCM) method, can predict portal vein resistance induced by ischemic ...

Monitoring Mitochondrial Function With High‐Resolution Respirometry During Ex‐Situ Heart Perfusion

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Normothermic ESHP preserves mitochondrial respiratory function over 6 h in a porcine model (n = 6): OXPHOS capacities across NADH‐, fatty‐acid‐, and succinate‐linked pathways remain stable, with reduced cytochrome‐c control efficiency indicating improved outer‐membrane integrity. HRR provides a rapid, actionable readout for organ assessment.
