Evaluation of Strength and Irradiated Movement Pattern Resulting from Trunk Motions of the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation

open access: yesRehabilitation Research and Practice, Volume 2012, Issue 1, 2012., 2012
Introduction. The proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) is a physiotherapeutic concept based on muscle and joint proprioceptive stimulation. Among its principles, the irradiation is the reaction of the distinct regional muscle contractions to the position of the application of the motions. Objective.

Strong Trinucleotide Circular Codes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Combinatorics, Volume 2011, Issue 1, 2011., 2011
Recently, we identified a hierarchy relation between trinucleotide comma‐free codes and trinucleotide circular codes (see our previous works). Here, we extend our hierarchy with two new classes of codes, called DLD and LDL codes, which are stronger than the comma‐free codes.

Comprehensive proteomics of CSF, plasma, and urine identify DDC and other biomarkers of early Parkinson’s disease

open access: yesActa Neuropathologica
Parkinson’s disease (PD) starts at the molecular and cellular level long before motor symptoms appear, yet there are no early-stage molecular biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis prediction, or monitoring therapeutic response.

Analysis of Expression and Functional Activity of Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase (DDC) and Serotonin Transporter (SERT) as Potential Sources of Serotonin in Mouse Ovary

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2019
The origin of serotonin in the ovary is the key question for understanding mechanisms of serotonergic regulation of reproductive function. We performed a study of the expression and functional activity of the serotonin transporter (SERT) and the enzyme ...

Current Use of Nucleoside Analogues in the Treatment of HIV Infection

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology, Volume 5, Issue E, Page 21E-26E, 1994., 1994
Nucleoside analogues continue to play a central role in the treatment of HIV infection. The recently published Concorde I.rial has been misinterpreted as demonstrating a Jack of efficacy of zidovudine in the treatment of HIV disease. This is clearly not the case because zidovudine was prescribed to patients in both arms of the study. The Concorde study

Antifungal and Antiviral Cyclic Peptides from the Deep-Sea-Derived Fungus Simplicillium obclavatum EIODSF 020.

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2017
A new linear peptide simplicilliumtide I (1) and four new cyclic peptides simplicilliumtides J-M (2-5) together with known analogues verlamelins A and B (6 and 7) were isolated from the deep-sea-derived fungal strain Simplicillium obclavatum EIODSF 020 ...

NT-020 treatment reduces inflammation and augments Nrf-2 and Wnt signaling in aged rats

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation, 2015
BackgroundAging is associated with a decline in stem cell proliferation that is thought to be a result of dysregulated signaling in the neurogenic niche. This results in a diminished and less efficient pool of progenitors.

Pivotal roles of Kupffer cells in the progression and regression of DDC-induced chronic cholangiopathy

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Kupffer cells (KCs) are key players in maintaining tissue homeostasis and are involved in various liver diseases. However, the roles of KCs in the pathogenesis of cholangiopathy are largely unknown.

Protective effect of green perilla-derived chalcone derivative DDC on amyloid β protein-induced neurotoxicity in primary cortical neurons.

open access: yesBiological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2019
Amyloid β protein (Aβ) causes neurotoxicity and cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Oxidative stress is closely related to the pathogenesis of AD.

Correlation of TGN-020 with the analgesic effects via ERK pathway activation after chronic constriction injury

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2018
Extracellular regulated protein kinase (ERK) pathway activation in astrocytes and neurons has been reported to be critical for neuropathic pain development after chronic constriction injury.
