Dynamic Field Theory of Executive Function: Identifying Early Neurocognitive Markers

open access: yesMonographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, Volume 89, Issue 3, Page 7-109, December 2024.
Abstract In this Monograph, we explored neurocognitive predictors of executive function (EF) development in a cohort of children followed longitudinally from 30 to 54 months of age. We tested predictions of a dynamic field model that explains development in a benchmark measure of EF development, the dimensional change card sort (DCCS) task.

Global trends in opioid use for pain management in acute pancreatitis: A multicentre prospective observational study

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 12, Issue 8, Page 1114-1127, October 2024.
Abstract Background Since there is no current international consensus on the optimal approach for pain management in acute pancreatitis (AP), analgesic practices may vary across different healthcare settings. Objective This study explored global disparities in analgesic use, in particular opioids, during admission and at discharge in hospitalised AP ...

Integrase inhibitor drugs during pregnancy and congenital anomalies: A case/non‐case study from the global pharmacovigilance database VigiBase®

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 12, Issue 4, August 2024.
Abstract In 2018, a significant neural tube defects (NTD) signal was reported after pre‐conceptional exposure to dolutegravir, but was not confirmed in further analysis. Since 2019, dolutegravir‐based regimen, an integrase inhibitor (INI), is recommended by WHO as the most‐effective first‐line therapy in all patients living with HIV.

Why do avian responses to change in Arctic green‐up vary?

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 30, Issue 5, May 2024.
Global climate change has altered the timing of seasonal events for many animals, including northern‐nesting birds, but it is not clear why in some species, changes in timing of nesting match variation in climate more closely than in others. We tested to see if differences in the species' ecology might help explain these differences.

Multiple genetic variants at the SLC30A8 locus affect local super‐enhancer activity and influence pancreatic β‐cell survival and function

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 38, Issue 8, 30 April 2024.
GWAS‐identified SLC30A8 locus contains an islet super‐enhancer cluster. This super‐enhancer cluster regulates the expression of not only the SLC30A8 gene but also multiple other genes (UTP23, RAD21, MED30, and EXT1) which are involved in fundamental cellular machineries.

Review on Fatigue of Additive Manufactured Metallic Alloys: Microstructure, Performance, Enhancement, and Assessment Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 17, April 25, 2024.
Additive manufactured metals have excellent mechanical properties, but their fatigue resistance is an exception. This article reviews the processes attributes, hierarchical microstructure, fatigue performance, and evaluation methods. The fatigue failure mechanisms of printed metals were summarized, and the competition between trans‐scale ...
