Neurotransmitters and Immunity: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Potential Therapeutic Targets. [PDF]

open access: yesMedComm (2020)
Role of neurotransmitters in multiple pathological processes. Various neurotransmitters, including ACh, EPI, NE, 5‐HT, histamine, DA, glutamate, GABA, and neuropeptides participate in regulating key pathological events, including tumor proliferation, tumor migration, remodeling of the immune microenvironment, and the development of NDDs and ...

Modeling COVID‐19 contact‐tracing using the ratio regression capture–recapture approach

open access: yesBiometrics, Volume 79, Issue 4, Page 3818-3830, December 2023., 2023
Abstract Contact‐tracing is one of the most effective tools in infectious disease outbreak control. A capture–recapture approach based upon ratio regression is suggested to estimate the completeness of case detection. Ratio regression has been recently developed as flexible tool for count data modeling and has proved to be successful in the capture ...

TG Nonsense Variant in Dwarf Rottweiler Dogs

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We identified a dwarfism syndrome in six Rottweiler dogs characterized by reduced height and body weight; limb deformities, shortening of the tail and abnormally thick skin in puppies; developmental delays, pain and non‐goitrous hypothyroidism. Histological examination of the thyroid gland revealed severe chronic diffuse bilateral atrophy with

Navigating the Ethereal Tightrope: The Nanogenerator Manipulates Neurons for Immune Equilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
This review explores how nanogenerators modulate neuroimmune responses, offering innovative strategies for treating neurological disorders. By interfacing with neural pathways, they enable precise control of immune activity, especially via vagus nerve stimulation.

MSAA‐MSDA: A Multi‐Source Domain Adaptation Method for Remote Sensing Scene Classification Based on Multi‐Scale Attention Aggregation

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT Remote sensing scene classification is often challenged by domain shifts arising from variations in regions and sensor types, which can significantly degrade performance when models are applied to unlabelled target domains. Multi‐source domain adaptation (MSDA) leverages multiple labelled source domains to improve generalization, but its ...

Leukocyte count and new‐onset diabetes mellitus in people with HIV: A longitudinal study

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 26, Issue 10, Page 1585-1599, October 2025.
Abstract Objectives The risk of diabetes mellitus (DM) is increased in people with HIV. Chronic inflammation contributes to DM risk. High leukocytes are associated with DM in the general population, but in people with HIV, evidence of a leukocyte–DM association is limited. Methods We included participants of the Swiss HIV Cohort Study with new‐onset DM

Ferroptosis in Cancer and Inflammatory Diseases: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Ferroptosis, a form of cell death driven by iron and lipid peroxidation, serves as a bridge between cancer and inflammatory diseases. Microenvironmental factors such as oxidative stress collectively regulate this process. In cancer, ferroptosis exhibits dual roles: while it eliminates drug‐resistant cells, it may also promote tumor metastasis.

Dual Role of Natural Killer Cells in Early Pregnancy: Immunopathological Implications and Therapeutic Potential in Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion and Recurrent Implantation Failure

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 9, September 2025.
This article elaborates on the role of NK cells in early pregnancy from multiple perspectives, including molecular mechanisms and therapeutic interventions. It also discusses how NK cell dysfunction contributes to RSA and RIF, aiming to provide insights for future research on NK cell mechanisms and clinical treatment of RSA and RIF.
