Neurotransmitters and Immunity: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Potential Therapeutic Targets. [PDF]

open access: yesMedComm (2020)
Role of neurotransmitters in multiple pathological processes. Various neurotransmitters, including ACh, EPI, NE, 5‐HT, histamine, DA, glutamate, GABA, and neuropeptides participate in regulating key pathological events, including tumor proliferation, tumor migration, remodeling of the immune microenvironment, and the development of NDDs and ...

Interleukin‐7 improves the fitness of regulatory T cells for adoptive transfer

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 170, Issue 4, Page 540-552, December 2023., 2023
Regulatory T cell (Treg) expanded in the presence of interleukin‐7 (IL‐7, IL‐7M) display a CD45RA+CD62L+CD95+ phenotype and are less suppressive that Treg expanded with the standard method (StM). Once infused in vivo IL‐7M‐Treg persist longer and showed similar suppressive activity compared to StM‐Treg.

Azaquinoid‐Based High Spin Open‐Shell Conjugated Polymer for n‐Type Organic Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 10, Issue 19, July 6, 2023., 2023
An open‐shell quinoidal conjugated polymer, named as PazaQuBT‐T, is synthesized and characterized. The open‐shell polymer exhibits high spin characteristics resulting from the open‐shell diradical character of an azaquinoid building block. The organic field‐effect transistor (OFET) devices based on PazaQuBT‐T as an active layer demonstrate n‐channel ...

Metabolic Regulation of Macrophages in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Extracellular metabolites drive metabolic rewiring of glucose, lipid, and amino acid pathways in macrophages, steering their polarization toward pro‐ or anti‐inflammatory phenotypes and shaping a wide range of disease processes. Macrophages from different tissues display distinct metabolic signatures, and therapeutic strategies that target these ...

Thermal Stratification Drives Hypolimnetic Hypoxia in Low‐Gradient Rivers: Flow Velocity Thresholds for Prevention and Management

open access: yesEcohydrology, Volume 19, Issue 5, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypoxia in marine and lake environments is often linked to thermal stratification; however, in rivers, where turbulence is commonly assumed sufficient to maintain mixing, our understanding of these processes is comparatively limited. The Darling‐Baaka River, a lowland river in semi‐arid south‐eastern Australia, recently experienced hypoxic ...

Data‐Driven Stabilization of Linear Discrete‐Time Delay Systems With Noisy Data

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Volume 36, Issue 3, Page 1217-1227, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper is concerned with the stabilization of linear discrete‐time delay systems with unknown system matrices. The objective is to design stabilizing controllers using input and state measurements collected from experiments, which are affected by process disturbances.

Effect of High‐Pressure Processing Operating Parameters on Microbial Inactivation and Bioactive Protein Preservation in Bovine Milk: A Systematic Review

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT In the U.S., bovine milk is processed using thermal pasteurization to ensure microbial safety. However, this process alters the structure of heat‐sensitive bioactive proteins associated with the functional benefits of raw milk, including antimicrobial, immunomodulatory, and antioxidant proteins.
