Functional Maturation and Experience-Dependent Plasticity in Adult-Born Olfactory Bulb Dopaminergic Neurons. [PDF]

open access: yesEur J Neurosci
Adult‐born dopaminergic neurons in the mouse olfactory bulb are almost functionally mature at 5 weeks of cellular age. More immature adult‐born dopaminergic cells do not have elevated functional plasticity in response to brief 24‐h sensory deprivation.

Ferroptosis in Cancer and Inflammatory Diseases: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Ferroptosis, a form of cell death driven by iron and lipid peroxidation, serves as a bridge between cancer and inflammatory diseases. Microenvironmental factors such as oxidative stress collectively regulate this process. In cancer, ferroptosis exhibits dual roles: while it eliminates drug‐resistant cells, it may also promote tumor metastasis.

Spontaneous Rise of Hydrogen Microbubbles in Interfacial Gas Evolution Reaction

open access: yesSmall, Volume 20, Issue 33, August 15, 2024.
A remarkable phenomenon in which oil microdroplets deposited on a substrate undergo base‐catalyzed Hydrogen Evolution Reaction to produce internally growing bubbles is presented. Diffusion‐dominated bubble growth eventually overcomes viscous drag and capillary forces exerted on the reacting drop, exhibiting spontaneous detachment and rise in the basic ...

Acceleration of Abramov Glacier (Pamir‐Alay) retreat since the Little Ice Age

open access: yesBoreas, Volume 53, Issue 3, Page 415-429, July 2024.
The Abramov Glacier, situated in the Koksu River valley in the Pamir‐Alay Mountain range, was extensively monitored from 1965 to 1999 and again since 2011, providing valuable climate data. We apply cosmogenic 10Be exposure datings, ground penetrating radar measurements combined with numerical modelling as well as calculation of secular glacier mass ...
