Incidence of cardiometabolic outcomes among people living with HIV‐1 initiated on integrase strand transfer inhibitor versus non‐integrase strand transfer inhibitor antiretroviral therapies: a retrospective analysis of insurance claims in the United States

open access: yesJournal of the International AIDS Society, Volume 26, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
Abstract Introduction Integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI)‐containing antiretroviral therapy (ART) has been associated with weight gain, though there is limited information on associations between ART‐related weight gain and cardiometabolic outcomes among people living with HIV‐1 (PLWH). We, therefore, evaluated risks of incident cardiometabolic

Second Generation of Cata‐Annulated Azaacene Bisimides: Towards Electron‐Accepting Materials

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 88, Issue 5, May 2023., 2023
Cata‐annulated azaacene bisimides were synthesized with different bisimide substituents to crystal engineer their packing in the solid state and to improve the morphology in thin films. Suitable derivatives were applied in proof‐of‐concept OFETs. The charge carrying species of one derivative, the radical anion, was characterized through electron ...

Deconstructing Fallacies in Products Liability Law to Provide a Remedy for Economic Loss

open access: yesAmerican Business Law Journal, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 387-447, Summer 2021., 2021
For years, products liability law has failed to provide a remedy for consumers who suffer financial injury as a result of purchasing defective products manufacturers place and keep in the marketplace. The economic loss rule and defect manifestation requirements have, to date, foreclosed products liability claims when consumers suffer only economic ...

SIMSCAPE Electrical Modelling of the IGBT with Parameter Optimization Using Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The concept introduced by MathWorks in the Simscape product is the link representation between the SIMSCAPE library components that correspond to physical connections transmitting power. In this paper, a power insulated‐gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) model using MATLAB graphical software is reproduced.

Large vs. Small NHC Ligands in Nickel(0) Complexes: The Coordination of Olefins, Ketones and Aldehydes at [Ni(NHC)2]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 2020, Issue 33, Page 3194-3207, September 7, 2020., 2020
The reactivity of [Ni(Mes2Im)2] 1 and [Ni(iPr2Im)2] (as provided by [Ni2(iPr2Im)4(µ‐(η2:η2)‐COD)] 2) towards simple olefins, ketones, and aldehydes is reported. This study demonstrates how substrate binding to bis‐NHC nickel complexes can be fine‐tuned upon a change of the sterics of the NHC ligand.

Total ecosystem carbon stocks of mangroves across broad global environmental and physical gradients

open access: yesEcological Monographs, Volume 90, Issue 2, May 2020., 2020
Abstract Mangroves sequester large quantities of carbon (C) that become significant sources of greenhouse gases when disturbed through land‐use change. Thus, they are of great value to incorporate into climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.

The CuAAC: Principles, Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysts, and Novel Developments and Applications

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 41, Issue 1, January 2020., 2020
Copper‐I‐catalyzed “click” chemistry (CuAAC) has emerged as the most broadly useful click chemistry and has been widely applied in material science, bioorganic chemistry, and macromolecular chemistry. External additives and parameters (homogeneous/heterogeneous catalysts, ligands, anchimeric assistance, and basic chemical principles) are discussed ...

From Topic Networks to Distributed Cognitive Maps: Zipfian Topic Universes in the Area of Volunteered Geographic Information

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Are nearby places (e.g., cities) described by related words? In this article, we transfer this research question in the field of lexical encoding of geographic information onto the level of intertextuality. To this end, we explore Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) to model texts addressing places at the level of cities or regions with the help ...

Thiopurine metabolite level and toxicity in Indians with inflammatory bowel disease

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 1, Issue 1, Page 25-31, September 2017., 2017
In this study, we showed that thiopurine levels were in therapeutic range in only 28% of patients and suboptimal in the remaining patients. Based on metabolite levels, thiopurine dose was optimized in 26% of patients. In addition, it is for the first time that we have showed that Indian patients do not require lower doses as compared to Caucasians and ...
