Are polar bear habitat resource selection functions developed from 1985–1995 data still useful?
Ecology and Evolution, Volume 9, Issue 15, Page 8625-8638, August 2019., 2019 Resource selection functions (RSFs) developed from 1985–1995 data show polar bear optimal sea ice during annual ice melt, minimum, and growth has declined, and bears are now forced to use suboptimal habitats. Winter RSFs show habitat selection has remained unchanged and effectively show the distribution of habitat and bears.
