Enhanced Embolic Signal Analysis through Ensemble Deep Learning Techniques Utilizing Transfer Learning and Layer Freezing Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
A 10‐convolutional neural network ensemble using transfer learning and layer freezing analyzes 400 Doppler‐ultrasound spectrograms to distinguish speckle, artifact, and ESs. Soft and hard voting drive performance to 96.7% accuracy and 96.5% F1, highlighting a practical route for early embolus detection and stroke‐risk mitigation.

PAK1 inhibitor NVS‐PAK1‐1 preserves dendritic spines in amyloid/tau exposed neurons and 5xFAD mice

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Synaptic spine loss in Alzheimer's disease (AD) contributes to cognitive decline. p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1), a regulator of spine integrity, is aberrantly activated in AD. We investigated whether PAK1 inhibition might preserve dendritic spines in vitro and in vivo.

Metabolome Wide Association Study of Serum DDE in Midlife Adults: Relevance to Prodromal ADRD

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S1, December 2025.
Abstract Background Serum levels of dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE), the primary metabolite of the organochlorine pesticide dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), are associated with cognitive impairment and increased risk of Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
