Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

The Dapor–Liegener model of loop quantum cosmology: a dynamical analysis

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
The Dapor–Liegener model of loop quantum cosmology (LQC), which depicts an emergent universe from a de Sitter regime in the contracting phase is studied from the mathematical viewpoint of dynamical systems and compared with the standard model of LQC ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Hawking radiation from the cosmological horizon in a FRW universe

open access: yes, 2011
It is well known that there is a Hawking radiation from the cosmological horizon of the de-sitter spacetime, and the de-sitter spacetime can be a special case of a FRW universe. Therefore, there may be a corresponding Hawking radiation in a FRW universe.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Schottky anomaly of a perturbed Reissner–Nördstrom de Sitter spacetime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
For de Sitter spacetime, when the parameters of spacetime satisfy certain conditions, black hole horizon and cosmological horizon coexist in the spacetime.

Accelerating Kerr-Newman black holes in (anti-)de Sitter space-time

open access: yes, 2006
A class of exact solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations is presented which describes an accelerating and rotating charged black hole in an asymptotically de Sitter or anti-de Sitter universe.

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

A Model of Nonsingular Universe

open access: yesEntropy, 2012
In the background of Friedmann–Robertson–Walker Universe, there exists Hawking radiation which comes from the cosmic apparent horizon due to quantum effect.
